The CP981RC is designed to provide a high performance, cost-effective solution that responds to the growing pervasiveness of Ethernet as the backbone technology on which modern communications networks are built. It is a 6U CompactPCI switch, conforming to industry standards that enables it to be embedded within the majority of today’s network systems for customers in telecommunications, industry and defense. With its high density 12- and 24-port capability, the CP981RC allows customers to configure the maximum number of communications ports within a single- or dual CompactPCI slot, making for highly cost-effective solutions.

The CP981RC complements Abaco Systems’ already-extensive line of embedded switches. This switch introduces a new cost point with a very attractive price/performance and port densities, and will allow customers to achieve full wire-speed Gigabit Ethernet switching previously out of reach because of the cost.
