Overview

The IP-OCTALPLUS422 IndustryPack implements eight EIA-422 asynchronous serial ports, each with RXC+, RXD-, TXD+, TXD-, and GND signals. The serial ports are implemented with two Exar ST16C654 quad UARTs. Each channel has two 64-character FIFOs to allow longer interrupt servicing latencies.
 

  • Eight EIA-422 ports on a single-wide IndustryPack
  • Support for RXD+, RXD-, TXD+, TXD-, and GND on each port
  • 64-character FIFOs on all receivers and transmitters
  • Programmable baud rates up to 460.8 Kb/s
