Chicago, IL (June 7, 2005) â Today at SuperComm® 2005, SBS Technologies® (NASDAQ: SBSE), a leading provider of one of the broadest lines of data and communications mezzanine modules in the embedded telecommunications industry, announced the Telum GE-QT Advanced Mezzanine Card (AdvancedMC) Gigabit Ethernet Network Interface Card. The single-width, full-height Telum GE-QT is compliant with PICMG®'s AMC.1 specification for AdvancedMC.
The Telum GE-QT is a 4-port Gigabit Ethernet AdvancedMC card providing high bandwidth and high port density. It is ideal for adding Ethernet capability to AdvancedTCA telecommunication platforms and other platforms with AdvancedMC slots that require additional Ethernet links. This single-width, full-height AdvancedMC form factor card offers greater design flexibility and maximizes port density on the carrier card or host board.

The card uses a x4 PCI Express bus as the data bus and conforms to the AMC.1 specification. To reduce host CPU utilization, the AdvancedMC Ethernet controller supports TCP CRC and segmentation offloading. The Ethernet network interface complies with IEEE 802.3 specification and supports 10BaseT, 100BaseTX and 1000BaseT modes over CAT-5 or better twisted pair cable.
Each Ethernet port on the Telum GE-QT features auto-negotiation and automatic MDI/MDIX switchover enabling greater compatibility with existing devices and infrastructure. Both full and half-duplex modes are supported.
Telum GE-QT implements an IPMI controller as defined in the AdvancedMC standard. This controller provides access to an on-board temperature sensor enabling voltage level and advanced thermal monitoring.
