SBS Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: SBSE), a leader in high-performance OEM telecommunications platforms and wide area networking (WAN) subsystems, today announced that it is partnering with Trillium Digital Systems, Inc., an Intel company and leading provider of communications software solutions for the converged network infrastructure, to offer mutual OEM customers integrated hardware/software system solutions for SS7 applications.

This partnership will allow communications equipment manufacturers to benefit from accelerated time-to-market and reduced development costs/risks. Targeting high-density voice and data gateway applications, SBS' SS7 solutions will be deployed by a variety of leading networking OEMs to facilitate the convergence of the existing TDM infrastructure with the packet based voice and data network.
As a major player in the telecommunications marketplace, SBS Communications Group provides OEM customers with mission critical OEM platforms and a rich mix of WAN interfaces supporting 56k to ATM-OC3 as well as a comprehensive suite of enabling communications software protocols. Many of SBS' WAN I/O products offer protocol support for Frame Relay, PPP, and HDLC. This new business alliance will complement SBS' product offerings with SS7 software solutions from Trillium. This partnership demonstrates SBS' commitment to enabling SBS' OEM customers to implement SS7 technologies in ways that effectively address the high-density and high-availability requirements of mission-critical networks.
