Palomar II is a Processor PMC (PPMC) module that hosts a high performance PowerPC 750 processor. Coupled with real-time operating systems like VxWorks©, Palomar II brings the processing power and memory of a 6U card to the PMC form-factor. "Many telecom and datacom customers are designing PMC sites on their baseboards and Palomar II is an easily upgradeable processor engine which allows our customers to improve total system performance as newer, faster processors become available without changing their system architecture. Customers are modularizing system designs and moving processors onto PPMC modules, leaving the baseboard, or host board, for their value added I/O or ASICs.
