Albuquerque, NM (April 20, 2004) â Today SBS Technologies® (Nasdaq: SBSE), a leading provider of embedded computing technology, introduced the Maxim 921-DS, a new single site PMC module for full-duplex channelized DS3 connectivity. The new, cost-effective SBS telecommunication product is designed for data applications requiring high-density connectivity using up to 28 T1 lines, multiple DS0s (up to 672) in clear channel, fractional and channelized DS3 applications such as routers, switches, wireless broadband and multi-service gateways.
âThe Maxim 921-DS is a highly scalable DS3 connectivity solution that allows developers to use all 672 available DS0 channels with full channelization. Previous solutions have not offered the scalability or ease of configuration of the Maxim 921-DS,â said Charlie Tompkins, Vice President and General Manager of Communications I/O for SBS.
The Maxim 921-DS offers connectivity at 44.736 Mbps and features a 32/64-bit, 33/66 MHz PCI interface and front and rear panel I/O options. The MAXIM 921-DS features unique technology designed to minimize host intervention and maximize bus bandwidth to increase overall system performance. The Maxim 921-DS is especially effective with demanding applications, such as edge routing and aggregation.
The Maxim 921-DS is available with Linux, VxWorks® and Windows XP® drivers. The included SBS modular Driver Development Kit (DDK) enables OEMs to take advantage of driver portability across the entire SBS WAN product line.
