SBS Technologies® (NASDAQ: SBSE) today introduced an addition to its PCcompact™ family, the PC6, a rugged embedded PC with dual Ethernet capability to maximize utilization of all three expansion slots, and allow data collection and data uplinks to occur simultaneously. Designed ready for DINrail mounting, the PC6 features a Pentium® compatible processor (333 MHz) and integrated power supply. "Developed in response to the evolving needs of our customers, the PC6 combines an enhanced feature set and conduction cooled operation in a highly compact design to provide the market with a rail-mounted embedded PC featuring optimal performance, versatility, and cost-to-market." The PC6 is available as a standard product offering a rich feature set that includes a convenient mounting design to minimize installation time, an extended temperature range of -40 to +70&61616;C to accommodate fanless action in harsh environments, and minimal power requirements to eliminate expensive power supplies and enable use in mobile applications. The PC6 also provides customization options for the label, feature set, housing and board to meet the unique requirements of customer applications. Bundled in a compact EMI protected metal housing measuring 5.2 x 8.7 x 3.3 inches, or in a boxless version, the PC6 delivers a flexible and rugged design with shock and vibration immunity for use in a variety of industrial applications requiring compact PC/server solutions. The PC6 powers embedded OEM applications such as process and control automation, data acquisition and processing, machine control, test systems, public transportation, digital printers and information systems. Software Support Operating system support is available for Windows NT®, real time systems (VxWorks®) and MS-DOS. Pricing and Availability The list price for the standard PC6 is approximately $1,000.
