SBS Embedded Computers (Formerly V·I Computer) Develops Palomar PMC Module Hosting PowerPC 750 Processor

  • 266/300/366 MHz PowerPC 750
  • 64 MB of SDRAM, 1 MB L2 CACHE
  • Customized for specific applications in eight weeks SBS Embedded Computers (formerly V·I Computer) announces the availability of the Palomar, a PMC module featuring the high performance PowerPC 750 processor. New PowerPC 750 processors offer lower core voltages, keeping the Palomar within PMC power and dimension standards. The Palomar is ideal for telecom/datacom applications when additional high performance processing is required in a PMC module form factor. "Palomar started as a custom design for one significant customer," stated Bret Farnum, Director of Sales for SBS Embedded Computers (formerly V·I Computer). "However, as we shared the specification with other telecom/datacom companies it became obvious that the Palomar will be used in many wireless, networking and other telecom applications." Price and Availability
The Palomar is currently available and priced at $2,500.00. For high volume customer applications, pricing is below $1,500.00. To meet very specific application requirements, custom versions of Palomar are also available. Features
The Palomar is configured with a 266/300/366 MHz PowerPC 750 processor, 1 MB L2 cache, 64 MB SDRAM (parity option) and 1 serial and JTAG port. Coupled with several real-time operating systems such as VxWorks, Palomar brings the processing and memory of a much larger card to the PMC form-factor. The Palomar can be customized in as little as eight weeks with no NRE. About SBS Embedded Computers (formerly V&61623;I Computer)
