Billerica, MA: August 7th 2006:  Reaffirming the companyâs leadership position in the field of rugged military computing solutions, Radstone Embedded Computing today announced that it had received an order valued at close to $6 million from Astronautics Corporation of America, in support of the A400M program. The order includes Radstoneâs IMP2A 3U CompactPCI processor, IXT2B Intel Pentium-based processor and GBX16 Managed Gigabit Ethernet Switch, all built to Radstoneâs maximum ruggedization level. âWeâre delighted that Astronautics has chosen Radstone to be part of this prestigious project,â said Peter Cavill, President of Radstone Embedded Computing. âThe A400M has already been ordered in significant quantity by a number of countries around the world, and we look forward to working with Astronautics to ensure its continuing success.â The IMP2A, IXT2B and GBX16 will form part of Astronauticsâ Network Server System which will be installed on the Airbus Military A400M â the first military transport plane to be developed by Airbus. This four-engine turboprop aircraft, originally designed to meet the demand of European nations for military airlift is expected to be in service from 2009. The Airbus A400M will operate in many configurations including cargo transport, troop transport, MEDEVAC and aerial refueling.
