Description
Intermittent failure reading/writing using a hard drive on a VME SBC connected to a 7452/7459 hard drive controller or a drive hung off an ACC-0562 transition card. The longer the cable the more likely this could cause deterioration of the signals causing R/W failures.
Resolution
Check the length of the VMXC or IDE cable you are using. The recommended total length of the cable should not exceed 14". This 14" in combination with the connectors and land trace should not exceed the 18" recommended IDE requirement.
