Condor Engineering announced today the release of its new high performance, multi-function PC/104 card for MIL-STD-1553A/B, the Q104-1553.
The latest addition to Condor's new line of Q-1553 products introduces new levels of functionality and interface density for PC/104 systems. "The Q104-1553 offers up to four MIL-STD-1553 Dual Redundant Channels on a PC/104 or a PC/104-Plus platform which makes it ideal for embedded applications" stated Bill Schuh, Manager of Military Avionics Products for Condor Engineering. "Another attractive feature of the Q104-1553 for embedded systems is its ability to provide extremely high Mean-Time Between Failure (MTBF) rate" added Schuh.
On multi-function boards, each 1553 channel provides simultaneous Bus Controller (BC), 31 Remote Terminal (RT), and Bus Monitoring (BM) functionality. Single-function boards are also available. Standard features include 1 Mbyte of RAM per 1553 channel, avionics-level discretes, 1760 start-up time compliant, error injection/detection, triggers, BC conditional branching, RT Map Monitoring and advanced BC scheduling. 1, 2 or 4 channel boards are available in either PC/104 (ISA) or PC/104-Plus (PCI) formats.
Included with the Q104-1553 is Condor's easy-to-use, high-level API which can significantly reduce application development time. Full API support is provided for Windows, Linux, VxWorks, Solaris and other operating systems. To access 1553 functionality without software development, the optionally available BusTools/1553 GUI is ideal for MIL-STD-1553 bus analysis, simulation and data logging/monitoring.
