systems and sensors are embedded into smaller autonomous vehicles such as micro UAVs and portable, wearable electronics. Chris Jobling, Product Manager for GE Intelligent Platforms’ Applied Image Processing group, describes how GE’s design team used a model-based design methodology to produce a fully functional video tracking solution that consumes less than 2W in a footprint slightly smaller than that of one frame of 35mm film.
A live demonstration of this radical new solution will be on display at Booth 1239 of the AUVSI exhibition in Washington, DC from August 16 through August 19, alongside demonstrations of GE's GPGPU multi-core signal processing and HD video compression technologies.

GE Intelligent Platforms has been at the forefront of supplying automatic video tracking solutions for the past 20 years, and its size, weight, and power (SWaP) optimized products have |
found application in many diverse requirements, from automatic air refueling to military weapon control. Over that time, the automatic video trackers in its ADEPT range have become progressively smaller, lighter, and less power hungry without any decrease in performance.
Increasingly, however, customers have been demanding game-changing degrees of SWaP optimization as video |

Readiness Level Measure Boosted by COTS Computers
Technology readiness level (TRL) and manufacturing readiness level (MRL) can be used to advantage by a systems developer to reduce time to market with new products, improve the value chain of the platform, and make the system developer that much more competitive in the marketplace. Learn how a system developer can leverage the concepts of TRL and MRL to gain market advantage by downloading our new white paper.
