NETernity™ CP946

CP946 is a CompactPCI full wire speed, non-blocking Layer 2 switch with Management. The board provides an economical solution for high availability PICMG® 2.16 systems. It offers 24 ports of 10/100BaseTX to the rear I/O and 2 Gigabit Ethernet ports to the front panel.The Gigabit ports can be either copper or fiber. In a standard rack mount chassis, 19 ports are used for the 2.16 specification with the remaining 5 ports available to the user for additional links via the rear transition card. The management can be done through any of its 24+2 ports. The CP946 supports Rapid Spanning Tree for network loop detection and disabling, which is particularly valuable in building fault tolerant solutions. CP946 is compliant to the system level bus specification PICMG 2.9. The IPMI Micro controller can respond to any of the IPMI commends. This switch provides its information for system level control and monitoring often required for high availability systems. The board will provide user configurable information such as serial number, model number, temperature, etc. The board power on/off can be controlled via IPMI command.
