Overview
Com 360 is a PMC communications module that utilizes one Motorola MC68360 Quad Integrated Communications Controller (QUICC) to provide up to four full duplex SCC serial ports. The four SCC ports are each capable of transmitting and receiving data using RS-232, RS-422, or RS-485 standards, with each port capable of being configured separately. The MC68360 also provides two SMC ports configured for RS-232.
The performance of the SCC ports are dependent on the type of drivers and receivers, performance of the serial communications controller, and choice of cables. As a general rule, there are minimum performances that are attainable. All ports are configured as DTE devices.
