What are some recommendations for ARINC 429 receiver and transmitter protection against lightning, overvoltage, etc?

ARINC 429 receivers do not need protection from overvoltage. ARINC 429 transmitters do need protection in applications where overvoltage is a concern. This pertains to all Condor ARINC products.

HI-8585, HI-8586 Line Drivers Recommended protective measures are shown on the figure below. The devices are similar, except as follows:
HI-8585 Incorporates built-in overvoltage 
        protection diodes.  Has internal 
        37.5 ohms resistors in each 
        output line.

HI-8586 No built-in overvoltage protection 
        diodes.  Has internal 10 ohm 
        resistors in each output line.
